I love the 80′s ……….
It’s thursday and you know what that means….We’re rockin with the 80′s. Today’s throwback comes from an R&B trio of the 70′s and 80′s. Originally known as an influential dance trio on the Don Cornelius show, Soul Train. They helped introduce body popping to the United Kingdom, and were noted as trendsetters and fashion icons. This group called Shalamar consisted of vocalist Jody Watley, Howard Hewett and Jeffrey Daniel. Signed to SOLAR Records, in 1979 they scored their first hit with the single “Second Time Around”. They later went on to record 9 studios albums with featured hits like ” Take that to the Bank”, ” I Owe You One”, “I Can Make You Feel Good” and ” A Night To Remember”. A pop icon himself, Michael Jackson was a big fan of the group after years of watching them on Soul Train, partically Jeffrey Daniels for his amazing dance moves. Daniels and Jackson would eventually meet later and build a great professional relationship. Daniel’s was choreographer behind Micheal Jackson’s the iconic dance move “The Moonwalk” and videos “Smooth Criminal” & “Bad”. The trio eventually parted ways to persue individual careers. In 1996 the group reunited, to remake the hit single “This is for the Lover In You” featuring LL Cool J which sold a million copies. Pls Enjoy today’s throwback off the Friends album.(I love this song)
