I Love The 80′s Throwback : Simply Red
You know its Thursday, which means we’re on our 80′s groove. Check out todays throwback, it comes from a British Soul band called Simply Red. Revamped in ’85 the band originally performed under the name The Frantic Elevators and consisted of others members before changing its name and lineup to Simply Red. The new band would signed to Electra Records and consists of of Tony Bowers(Bass), Fritz McIntyre(Keyboard), Tim Kellet(Brass), Sylvan Ricardson(guitar) and Chris Joyce(drums). Their debut single “Money’s Too Tight (To Mention)” had international success but it would be second single “Holding Back The Years” that became a US #1 hit making them household names. Since then, the band has gone on to release a total 10 studio albums selling more than 50 million albums over a 25-year career span. Not bad for some British Boys huh??? Off their debut album Picture Book here are of my favorite 80′s songs “Holding Back The Years”. Let me know you remember this song….
