Sticking to our Wednesday theme of The Good, Bad and Ugly of relationships, today’s selected throwback comes from an R&B group by way Pasadena, California. Made up of 5 childhood friends ( Steve Russell, Allen McNeil, John Harreld, Rodney Benford, and Reggie Warren) the group known as TROOP began their career in the 80′s. They signed to Atlantic Records and released their self titled album Troop in 1988. Shortly after the group followed up with their 2nd release entitled Attitude a year later. With hits like Spread My Wings (which was the first remix produced by Clark Kent) and All I do Is Think Of You, the album reached platinum status. Since then, they’ve gone on to release 4 additional studio albums throughout their career. Working on individuals projects group member Steve Russell has gone on to write for young talents like Chris Brown(Take You Down ) , Jennifer Hudson (Invisible) and Jordan Sparks( No Air).
