This Detroit native moved to Los Angeles after inking a deal with LA based recording label Stones Throw Records. A multi-faceted artist Hawthrone is a singer, writer, producer, arranger, audio engineer, DJ, rapper and multi-instrumentalist (Geeeez guess I’m not working hard enough). Hawthorne who also performs with a live band whom he likes to refer to as “The County” uses the stage name of Haircut when recording or performing hip hop music. Hawthorne was influenced some of  music’s great such Curtis Mayfield, Issac Hayes, Leroy Hutson, Barry White, and Smokey Robinson. His debut single “Just Ain’t Gonna Work Out was released late 08 followed by his second Maybe SoMaybe No/I Wish It Would Rain.
