If your a fan of my throwback videos then you know Thursdays are all about the music and artist of the 80′s. Today’s throwback comes from a Chicago, Illinois native and best selling music artist. Selling over 22 million albums and singles worldwide this singer, songwriter, and producer began her career as dancer on the world famous dance show Soul Train. One of the most recognized dancers and trendsetters of the show, she would later go on to become an original member of the R&B trio Shalamar. In 1987, Ms.Watley parted ways with the group to pursue what would become a successful solo career . An iconic style maven of her time, Jody Watley celebrated successful singles like ” Looking For A New Love”, “Friends”, and “Real Love” just to name a few. A recipient of many accolades (such MTV, Grammy, American, Soul Train and Narm Awards) her most recent was Billboard’s LifeTime Achievement Award in 2007.
