This week we highlight a beauty of the Asian persuasion. Meet 22-year old model Liu Wen. Known for her amazing cheekbones and infectious smile this beauty was introduced to the rest of the world when she entered China’s New Silk Road World Model Contest in 2005. A born beauty of Yougzhu, China she was a full time tour guide and simply entered the competition with the hopes of winning the main prize of a computer. Go figure huh?  Although she didn’t win the competition or computer she won the ultimate prize, which was catching the eye of the international fashion industry.

Her first kiss of success was landing the cover of Chinese FHM in 2007.  At the dawn of her career, that cover was then followed by various editorials for Chinese Vogue and Harpers Bazaar. In 2008 she eventually relocated to Paris and signed with the Marilyn Agency.  Her runway debuted would be  featured  in fashion shows of Trussardi, Chanel, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Maison Martin Margiela , and Kenzo. Since then she’s appeared in countless editorals and covers,  was also named top-ten newcomer on Style.com, and has even booked ad campaigns for DKNY, Alexander Wang and quite recently was named the face of ck by Calvin Klien. Creating history, in 2009 she was named the first Asian model walk the Victoria Secret Runway Show.  And to think all she wanted was a computer…… Right?
